Structure #126 SOLD
This is a magnificent, large two-story building and perhaps the finest log house that we have run into. It measures 26'x 36' with two full-height stories plus an attic. The logs are large white pine felled from first growth forests in 1847. Some of the logs have a face height of nearly 24". The craftsmanship evident in the hewing and the dovetailing is first rate. The front façade is a four-bay type, with a door and three windows on the first floor and four windows on the second. Included with the sale of this building are the second and third floor joist system and the roof rafter system. The rafters are substantial hewn pieces suitable for show. The joists are hand-planed with beaded corners
Included with each log building we sell:
· First quality "as found" drawings
· Careful disassembly of the buildings so as to preserve all surviving original fabric
· Loading at our end
· Supervision and 'key help' with the re-assembly of the log walls
· Secondary material (doors, flooring, etc.) only as noted in the individual building description
Not Included:
· Trucking costs
· Boom truck or crane for unloading and re-assembly of the log walls
· Additional help (two or three workers for two or three long days for the larger buildings will be needed)
· Installation of any secondary materials included in the building
